Hipcricket, a mobile ad & marketing agency, called upon us to work a project with Hunter Straker & Starbucks. The site, which would be powered by Hipcricket's Ad Life Platform would allow consumers to easily browse all the different profiles of Starbuck coffees with their respective formats. Consumers would enter the experience either by Snap Tag, QR Code or banner ads placed on selected sites.
Our role was to conceptualize and design a seamless mobile and desktop experience for Starbucks customers, a micro-site that felt like a natural extension of the recently redesigned "dot com".
The site will run live for limited time periods throughout the year, enticing consumers with free sample packs themed around coordinated holidays and national point-of-purchase specials.
We took the end user experience heavily into consideration when designing - the average attention span when shopping is decreased; load times, speed and ease of use were critical to success. But the look and feel had to have the Starbucks sensibility; handmade, crafty, and original.
